I had Greg set up my electric and it sounded fantastic when he was done with it.
Greg Conser or Greg Reszel??
I wish this question had been posted sooner. I really hope that after reading this, no one does business with Music Star. Those guys are frauds and take advantage of kids who don't know enough to go to the Better Business Bureau.
Chuck you know I love ya man but I have to disagree with you about Music Star... I have been doing biz with them just as long as I have with sweetwater. I have never had a problem with them... then again all i have bought from them is drum sh*t so there is less room for f**k ups. But they have always been nice to me. That may be because the all know the other musicians in my family so that probably helps.
Greg Reszel. He's the only person I've ever had work on my electrics.
"If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties."
Greg Reszel is the only guitar tech besides myself that I would trust to work on my guitars (at least in the state of Indiana).
Al, I know that you and Perl both had good experiences at Music Star, but you can't deny that it doesn't sound good for them when so many people have stories of getting ripped off by them. They take advantage of anyone who they think they can get away with ripping off. They're opportunistic. They just won't rip you off because they know you.
I certainly would not try to put anything on layaway there.
I only shop/ have guitar work done at Music Star. I have never had a bad experience with this store, and if Brian doesn't have what I want he damn sure tries to get it for me. Bill is an excellent guitar tech and has never done me wrong with his craftsmanship.
On the other hand, no offense to Matt Sturm, I can't stand B-Sharp.
