...we should test for TB before letting someone in the country??? A very valid reason for strict immigration control.

We can't even keep someone in our country from leaving and then getting back in!

And these are the people imagining that they can prevent the next terrorist attack. Maybe, just maybe immigration control might help with that as well. But the Republicans need their cheap labor and the Democrats need new "victims of society" to vote for them.

Once they're granted amnesty and citizenship. And why do you think there's such a stink about photo id requirements to vote in some places????

Maybe it would be better if we put our effort into improving the distribution of vaccines/treatments for TB? It's absolutely shameful that ordinary strains of this effect so huge a percent of the population.

This I agree with. It's quite cheap, but we've still got to keep people with TB from infecting the rest of us.
