I fondly remember 102.3 when it was 96.3. We found it by accident on the radio circa 95/96 (fuzzy on the time). We heard a primus song followed by a violent femmes song and thought WTF??? NOBODY PLAYS THIS ON THE RADIO. To make it better, they had no dj's then. Soon it all changed and slowly went downhill. At this point, the only thing I will miss is the support they gave local bands. From what I understand rock 104 is coming back and if that's true, as long as they still try to have some support for local bands I can't really be sad about it.

So, this begs the question, is what ever new rock station (104) going to have support for local bands? I'm sure some of the same dj's will be at the new station. Can we still get a yearly cd and a show for an hour once a week?

I take it all back. This afternoon I heard Dan Patrick call Mike Tyson, "The Jessica Simpson of boxing" "He looks impressive, but really there's just not much there."

I thought you guys were kidding about it being a Spanish music station!

I somehow forgot to change my wife's alarm clock back to the original station after listening to JJ's final broadcast on X102. Needless to say, I had never had a band of Mariachis wake me up before, and I hope I never do again.

Go get some Sirius radio, you'll never go back to FM once you have over 100+ chanels to surf. It's worth it...

I had a double whammy.

91.5 (my usual choice) was playing some crappy tune, so in an ADHD fit of rage I change the station to 102.9 which was playing Ricky Nelson. OK, "mike plays anything", but now the guys are talking about "The River". Did someone come in and drown Mike in "The River"? WTF?

OK, relax...102.3...preset #5....(click)

AAAIII-Yaa-YI Yiiiiii........MARRRIII-ACHEIIII!!

At that point, I just turned the radio off. I already lost the 80's station out of Peru earlier this year...time to put the coin into the iPod adapter for my car quickly.

102.9 and 1250AM - now the River

102.3 - Mega 102 (spanish)

103.9 and 94.1 - Rock 104

96.3 - still the same
[b]Okay, think of what little patience I have as, oh, I don't know, your virginity. You always thought it would be there, until that night Junior Year when you were feeling a little down about yourself and your pal Kevin, who just wanted to be friends, well, he dropped by and he brought a copy of About Last Night and a four-pack of Bartels & James and woo hoo hoo, it was gone forever - just like my patience is now.

Now playing Christina Aguilera on 14 stations and in 2 languages...

So I wonder how happy wbyr really is about this? I mean 102.3 and 98.9 were the main stations for me...if I actually listened to the radio at all. I know a ton of people with the same view. Now that 102.3 is gone...its basically turn on radio...bad song...turn off radio!! How exciting! Is 104 intend on playin modern heavy rock/metal...or be pretty much classic rock? I just know someone has to do something with local stuff...I know 98.9 has a homegrown show...but it may be time to take it a step further....all hail local music!!!
If I knew it was going to be that kinnda party...Id stick my d@#* in the mashed potatoes!

DROP LIST IS NOW A FULL BAND!!!!!

I feel you there man. You know how when you hear the radio as your first waking up and you have some weird dream and in you grogginess you don't know wtf is going on?

I woke up thinking "sh*t, I did way too many drugs last night, the whole world is speaking spanish now!!!"

My second thought was "wait a minute, I have'nt done any drugs for years......"

My third was "Oh yeah, I get it now. FW radio actually got worse."
