Gummo messed my mind up. The basement workout scene is my favorite!

I'm going to try not to repeat, because I did see a lot of great movies on those lists, but I'll second any Mel Brooks movie and Hunt for Red October.
Also just about anything with Denzel Washington in it.

My choices are kind of odd, so it depends on what you like in a movie:

Platoon
Army of Darkness (if you like really cheesy comedy horror)
Crimson Tide (another submarine movie)
Glory
Ghost in the Shell (anime, not really for kids)
Gunshy
Face/Off
The Crow
Silence of the Lambs
John Q.
American Pie
The Sweetest Thing
Blade
Watership Down (animated, not really for small kids)
Mulan
Finding Nemo
The Replacements (if you like football comedy)
Training Day
The Rock

The TV show 'Lost' made reference to the book. I Love 'Lost' BTW.

The movie version of Watership Down leaves out a lot of the book, but it does stand on its own as a great movie, unlike a lot of movies that totally screw up the book.

I simply adore The Last Unicorn as well, it's a great story and didn't get screwed up because the guy who wrote the book also wrote the script. I've been waiting years for the live-action version.
