Fort Wayne City Limits... Now THAT would be cool... A nice indoor/outdoor theatre that seats about 2000 backed up to one of the rivers (post clean-up and green-up). Something that can be enclosed in the winter and opened up in the spring/summer/early fall.

Concert venue? We already have the Headwaters Pavilion, not to mention the 3k seat Foellinger Theatre. It isn't a matter of a lack of venues; it's the poop-for-brains mentality in Fort Wayne that thought Village People would be a happening show for 3RF.

I was thinking about this today at work during my twelve hour stint of boredom.... pushing buttons and making rubber things that I have no idea what they go to... I digress...
Why do the fuddy duddy big wigs not trust a communitee that begs for more things? What would it take to get their attention? Why do they ask for advice and form committees if they never take the advice into consideration? And how does a young buck like me get into a position of power to change the world?

This appeared on Indianapolismusic.net. Same discussion topic. I thought it was an interesting take on the subject. FYI..Indy's population is about 785,000 and it's the 12th largest city in the country.
The reason Austin is cooler than Indy has nothing to do with who the mayor is.
1) Great weather- with Global Warming we might be on par with Austin in another 800 to 1000 years.
2) Great culture- this takes more than a few mayoral terms.
3) Legitimate world-class music scene- John Mellencamp is many bales shy of Willie Nelson.
4) Hip Factor: Actors and rock stars live there.
5) Food: Austin actually has indigenous cuisine.
6) UT Longhorns- a huge party school right in town
But, hey, Indy has low cost of living.
