A long winded way of saying come see I, Wombat Sat Nov. 4th

Post by LC Pwince »

What, you ask, been going on with your favorite local rock band consisting of 5 handsome, lithe, and virile dudes collectively known as I, Wombat?
A lot, actually. You may have noticed (we did) a few weeks ago that the band was profiled in Whatzup magazine. If you missed it, you can check it out online under the "band archive" link at www.whatzup.com. For those of you who are cranially challenged, you'll find us listed under the I's. Seriously.
We also taped an episode of "Fort Wayne Reader Presents: Live Onstage" which airs on NBC33 at 1:00 AM Sunday morning, immediately following Saturday Night Live. Our episode is set to penetrate the airwaves of the designated market area on Nov. 11th (technically Nov. 12th). If you haven't seen the show, it consists of one local band per episode rocking out 4 or 5 songs, music news, an interview segment, and other vital information that will come in handy at parties after we make it big, and you can totally say you knew us before we sold out. This week (Nov. 4th), Wombat endorsed rockers Definitely Gary throw down on the show. More info on our appearance, as well as info on an article to appear in the Fort Wayne Reader, before the show airs next week.

"OK," you might be saying, "These things are cool and all, but I need me some LIVE Wombat. I need to FEEL the music. I NEED to FEEL the tubes burning in those amps. I NEED the swagger and knowing sexual confidence that only Chad Fry can project."

Fear not. We're playing this Saturday at Benson's Bar and Grill with Unseen Handz (local hip-hop) and the Riverbottom Nitemare Band. Cost is 5 bucks, and the music starts at 10. It's our first time playing this fine establishment, and we'd like to make a great first impression. It's also our first anniversary show. I can't remember what the traditional "first anniversary" present is supposed to be in a relationship (um...don't get me started on that one), but I'm pretty sure that alcohol is the gift of choice for rock dudes. I'm just sayin'. Miss this one at your own peril.

We've got other special goodness coming up this month as well. If you haven't been to our website lately, 3 tracks from our upcoming CD are now posted for your listening pleasure. We are also playing an all-ages show with Victorian Heights (from Chicago) and lo.automatic on Sunday, Nov. 19th at the Village Bowl on Bluffton Road, and keep an eye out for yet another band profile in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette coming soon.
