look up gods of other religons other than jedo-christanity, then look at the demons in the bible. gods of other religions were demonized and those who weren't christian were called devil worshippers or witches and murdered, EVERY religon does it. if say china came to america took over and forced buddism on americans would you call the ones who fight back terrorists or extremists I don't think so. as for islamists being offended it's the same thing as banning gay marriage here in the USA because it ruins "traditional marriage"...from who's point of veiw, a christian or catholic? this in the land of the right to pursuit of happiness...think about itkh_man wrote:KHARTOUM, Sudan - Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear "Muhammad."
I don't care what your culture is, your religion, race, whatever. They're morons. Cite all the justifications and culture differences you want...they're still idiots.
I'm sure I will be viewed as intolerant, but that's ok.
KH
the pursuit of happiness is most properly understood as the right to own property...

That's a mighty bold statement to make. It's also rather false. There are plenty of religions (or philosophies) that don't demonize their competition. In fact, there are many who are more than happy to believe what they believe and leave the rest of the world alone. You don't see Buddhist or Taoist recruitment drives or crusades. You don't see Druids, Wiccans, or other Pagans trying to bring people into the fold. In fact, they tend to be FAR more selective than other religions and try to hide their faith for fear of corruption and persecution.Pullimic wrote:EVERY religon does it.
There are 10 types of people in the world.
Those who understand binary. . .
. . .and those who don't.

yes it is a generalization and for the most part you're right but you do have pagans who say that they "hate" say catholics for instance just cause they've had a bad experience with some, the point I was trying to make and apparently failed to is just because someone in a group is bad doesn't mean the whole group is and that you should try to see things from not only your own point of few but from others also....being a very opinionated person and a horrible speller I know it can be hard lol

Need more evidence that Islam is a "religion of peace?"
How about the news this weekend of a 16-year-old Muslim girl in Canada who was
killed by her father for refusing to wear her head-dress to school. This
father is being hailed as a hero in the Muslim world for defending the honor
of Islam. Or how about the Saudi woman who was just pardoned after being
brutally gang raped and then arrested and sentenced to 6 months in jail and
200 lashes for being alone with a man in a cab. That is right, the RAPE
VICTIM was the one they were punishing and in what the Saudi government felt
was a magnanimous and humanitarian gesture, pardoned!

That is very much against the Taoist way of life.Garr wrote:You don't see Buddhist or Taoist recruitment drives or crusades.Pullimic wrote:EVERY religon does it.
edit* i felt I should elaborate
The only way to recruit people is really to hope that your actions drive them to seek the reason why you are the way you are. The whole concept is quite confusing sometimes. I try not to talk about my views to anyone unless someone very close to me like a sig other who i feel it is important that they understand why I am not a Christan but at the same time understand that I am not a heathen.
Taoism is very much an idea of peace. Even though it refers to war often, it is only for the sake of peace really that it is considered necessary (in my understanding that is).
