When was the last time you talked to a Canadian about their health care? I have a couple close friends that are Canadian and they think we're nuts for putting up with this TOTALLY F#*ked up health care system. Mind you, this is just the opinion of a few people that I know but it doesn't take much digging to get an idea of how much better they have it.

As far as schools go, I don't know about your experiences, but the last time I looked into private school tuition for my kids, I about sh!t my pants. I'd have to sell the house, move into a 2 bedroom trailer and get another job if I wanted to send my kids to a decent private school. That sh!ts for rich folk.

Because good, honest, hardworking people are getting bankrupted everyday, because they are getting f^*ked around by this money grubbing business of health care. What a joke.

The system is broken.

My latest complaint is very personal in nature. I'm asthmatic. I've been on the same inhaler since 1990. It's what works. Someone in an ivory tower somewhere decided to do away with it. The margin must not have been up to snuff. My co-pay is going from $5 to $50 the next time I get my prescription filled. How the hell does that work? Why do we let these bastards stick it to us like that?

I see your side of the argument, but what about the people who take advantage of the system?

I don't expect tax payers to pay for my triple by pass surgery just because I ate greasy fattening sh*t my whole life.

Why should I get to stay in the hospital at the tax payers expense after a weekend of drinking booze, blowing coke and doing hookers?

I know there are good honest people out there that deserve a break, but there are too many sh*tty people out there as well.

make that basic health care and I could play along. capitalism fuels research. research gives us medical advances. take away capitalistic pursuits in medicine and we're back to aspirin as a prescription. today's $150 script will be tomorrow's $4 Wal-Mart script.

The whole issue is a slippery slope and there isn't an easy fix. But I don't think anyone here can deny the fact that our system is in dire need of reform.

I don't know the answer but I do know that if we stay on the course were on now, by the time we're old men (if we make it) we won't be able to afford the most basic services required to keep pushing air.

Yeah I have talked to a Canadian about it too. My buddy's sister's ex-hubby was a Canuck, he came down to the states for a few days and I got to meet him. He said they pay a little more in taxes but they get so much more in benefits that it's worth it.

Think about how much we pay in income tax alone? It's like 25% for me. Where are my benefits? The government in this country is totally ripping us all off. And the national debt keeps rising. This is bullsh*t! Stop buying million dollar jets and tanks and bombers and pay off the damn national debt before we go into some massive depression.

I'm talking about all the taxes total that are taken out of my check. thats federal, state, local, ss, medicare. i think those are the 5 i think, except ss shows up as FICA. Anyways yea I do lose like 25% of my check each week.

Ok I'm calculating my taxes. On a regular week I made 520 and lost 110.16 of it on taxes. That calculates to about 21%.

My last check I only made 208 and lost 28.74 on taxes. That's almost 14%.

Wow that's actually a pretty big difference. About a 7% difference in tax withholdings from making 520 versus making 208.
