The new release is NOT Lateralus II, and the track listings reflect an altogether different mood. In the Kerrang ? interview (excerpts of which have been posted on the internet), Danny is quoted as saying “This is our blues record. We’re singing the blues.”

That was posted on the official website....don't really know what that means.

The album title is appearantly "10,000 Days"

I just saw that. The name is a little disappointing, 10,000 days sounds like a disturbed cd title. I was expecting something ominous and tool sounding. I also dont like the mention of Meshuggah in relation to the new album, which I dont like. I dont want Tool to try and imitate meshuggah, I want Tool to be Tool.

edit: The name was removed from Tool band the same day. hmmm.

No Greg, thats this year. They released those two dvd singles and on the packaging it said new release Spring 2006.

I suppose this is just a little off topic, but anyone who loves Tool's videos should check out The Brothers Quay. They're twins that make the most beautiful and creepy stop motion animation art films I've ever seen, and have to be a direct influence to Tool's videos. The Quays have made a few comercials you may have seen a long time ago like those Round Up weed commercials with the two weeds talking untill they die? Or the anti-drug commercial with the dolls in a dark and dusty house that are implied to have sex while on drugs? Well anyway I love em and highly recommend them.

The Quays have made a few comercials you may have seen a long time ago like those Round Up weed commercials with the two weeds talking untill they die?

Good point. I didn't know until reciently that the Tool's guitarist Adam Jones did the animation for those videos. For the longest time I thought it was the Quay's!
