I'll hook you up, Garr:

Don't expect emergency service... I left a message yesterday and still haven't heard back (but, as luck would have it, I was able to fix the amp myself).

Yeah, this amp has been sitting in my basement for a year. . .not being used. I use my Blue Voodoo 6212 for practice and I have a Peavy PA that I use for my live guitar sound (and a POD XT Live) Thanks for the info.

An update:

The amp was still producing the same problem noise (I hadn't found the root of the problem), and I was at the end of my skills, so I took it today to John, and I can tell you that he's the real deal... a gentleman and a skilled repairman who ruled out the most obvious causes while I waited. I'll have the amp back in a day or two, ready to rock.

Even before having the work done I'd recommend him on personal vibe alone.

Just got my amp back from John, and it's better than ever.

He checked every solder joint (found one cold joint), tightened all the hardware and cleaned all the pots and connection, found the main problem was an intermittent preamp tube and replaced it, and even made a grounded shield for the back panel that radically reduced self-noise....

It's quieter and better sounding than when I took it too him. Couldn't be happier.
