One more reason to go to your locally owned store. After sale service.

If you buy a piece of gear and it has a warranty then you can take it to the local store that is licensed to repair it. Why pay more when they can fix it anyway??

BassJones, please go in and talk to Nick Theime(pronounced tee-mee) He is an Asst. Manager there and is a good friend of mine. He will take care of you and has the knowledge to back it up. I have gone into local stores and not dealt with them b/c of the lack of knowledge and inability to compete. I'm sure there are great people I don't know in these local stores.

I'm sorry...I purchase very expensive gear and when I can save $200-300(sometimes alot more) by buying off another friend at a GC...I just can't pass that up...talk to Nick, you don't have to buy anything. Tell him Howey sent you.

By the way...Bill that used to work at Music Star sets-up my guitars and About Music in Broadripple does my repairs. I wouldn't trust GC either.
Just the same..I buy my oil from Wal-Mart but wouldn't dare let them change my oil.

I agree that if you can save some cash, then go for it. I don't think that I would buy a half stack for a couple hundred more at a local store. Honestly, I'd probably get one from a friend or online used. I like looking at GC, they have a lot of great stuff. I still get small things from B# (used to shop only at crash & twang) and I have no problem paying a little more for strings or whatever.
I think that it's pretty crappy that GC doesn't send customers to a local place or person for repairs. Personally, I prefer to set-up and repair all my own stuff. I want to know every inch of my gear and how it works.
I like the walmart oil comparison, I'm a mechanic at a local dealership and I won't buy my oil where I work because I can save $2 a quart at walmart. And hell no, I wouldn't let them check my tire pressure.
OJHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
