I only just recently started to care anything for the Stones. And then I forgot about it until I saw this thread. Why not listen to Lightnin Hopkins or Muddy Waters?

As for the Dixie Chicks? They just have to folk up their sound enough to get on Prarie Home Companion, and they'll have a fanbase who wouldn't care if they burnt an American flag bikini.

Hell, Doug and Andrew from Whatzup came in here the other day and I had to defend myself because Doug said, "....and we all know that Zach hates the Stones." out of nowhere. Is this such an alien concept that I don't buy into their brand?
I have to do the same in regards to my hatred (PURE PURE PURE hatred) towards AC/DC and Van Halen/Hagar.

What's wrong with not liking a band?

I have never cared for them at all either. The early stuff is okay, but anything from about 1972 on is just plain yawn.

I think if they dropped the backing band and just played their instruments and sang those thick-ass harmonies, that you'd be correct.

Give it about five to ten years, grasshopper. You'll kick yourself for not listening to it with your mom on Sunday mornings.

I have stated many times that they have some decent material, I'm just not goin' "GAGA" over any of it. Give me "Beast of Burden" and "Wild Horses" and let me be.

Its like this with Wilco for me, Greg. I'm just not goin' "GAGA" over any of it, its good, but its not changing my life in any sort of way. Although I'd rather listen to Wilco than the Stones.
