80 - 90% of the time, using profanity in lyrics is a sign that the person has RUN OUT OF IDEAS.
yep! :?

[[[ "how can I finish this,.... mmmm,... **snap**, I got it"]]]

probably would fall in the 10-20%.

although Mr. Miller hid that well
in the early 70's
(the reception of AM radio back
then, made it easier to get away
with it)

doesn't the edited version of that song say, "funky kicks going down in the city"?

that is funny.

I believe your correct.

the AM version was "kicks",..
the FM version(brand new to FW @ the time)
was "shxt".

dude: ELLIOT SMITH.

because i'm immune to cuss words, i never hear them. the next thing i know, i bring in Elliot Smith to work and BAM! "f**k" is everywhere.

When called out on it, i said that it's not really a cuss word if it's sang THAT beautifully.

"Say Yes"

"Christian Brothers"

(again, because i'm f**k deaf, those are the only two songs i can remember having profanity)

although he is talented enough not to need to stoop to that
1) stoop to what Wally?
2) profanity is as instrumental as any other words. the fear of profanity is what perpetuates the ridiculous concept of profanity. i can say "genocide" but i can't say "f**k-ocide"?
