i must be old. whenever i hear the word hardcore i instantly think of the stooges and mc5, not the heavy metal that most pople use the word to refer to. I guess alot of people want to try to distance themselves from thier hair-band roots but most of what is called hardcore nowadays i consider more of a metal/punk fusion with screaming intead of singing. which is by no means a bad thing, just a misnomer imo.

emo is a label not a genre. their in very little continuity to what people group together as emo. Ive hear miranda sex garden, fields of the nephelim, bauhaus, sisters of mercy and love and rockets all refered to as 'emo'!!!

And trying to force any of ian m's music into any kind of genre is an exercise in futility.

just my opinion.

nephelim being called emo, i hope im only crying cause im laghing so hard.

Nah, I'd concider the Stooges and the MC5 as the founding fathers of hardcore. IMHO, of course.

i hope to god the next big thing wont be grindcore or crust

but then again it might be good to see kids get a good taste in music for once ;)
salvation or annihilation the choice is up to you and me. Genocide is now a threat but soon to be reality, it takes two sticks to create a spark, imagine the spark of millions, a million hands joined in love could save us from the killing.
