Thanks everyone. Keep them coming. Because of your tireless efforts, I had "El Scorcho" stuck in my head all shift. But I don't know all the lyrics, so I kept singing:

I asked you to go to the Green Day concert
You said you never heard of them
-How cool is that?-
So I went to your room and read your diary

over and over and over. Also the bit about Cio-chio San, but I forgot the line before it, if I ever even knew it.

Also: It's amazing how much of your life post 1996 that you find yourself not thinking about the Gin Blossoms any more.

TMBG didn't seem to have a lot of amazing songs from the mid-90's, but there were a few gems. John Henry and Factory Showroom really just weren't their best albums, imo. (Though I do know some people that think John Henry is their best. To each their own.)

That's a list of a few of my faves - I'll add more after I go home tonight and stare at my CD collection.

i know cult of personality was released in the '80's, but it was also a staple of early '90's alternative radio. not to mention my favorite song from living colour.

Wasn't that XTC?

And some of these are so obvious, I'm kicking myself in the shins for forgetting them.

Crash Test Dummies had a song on the Dumb and Dumber soundtrack called The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead. It's one of my favorite songs from the 90's. I've not heard of an XTC song by this name, though I don't know much XTC.
