metalcore is not nu-metal.

Who gives a sh*t what you call it, it's all metal. If you label Machine Head as "folk metal" i don't care, i still like it! If you label Staind as "neo-classical/post hardcore industrial metal", it still sucks!

cus theres sooo many metal bands and they all have their own styles. Although 'non-metal-fans' think its all teh same (usually means they think it is non stop screaming and made for/by the devil) ppl who understand metal can realize that Korn and any random local HxC band have little in common (although still metal)

make sense?

Nu metal can also be classified as mall metal or jump rock. Put on your fat pants and get aggro!

I guess I never knew people felt so strongly about the seperation of metal genres.

I guess I've never cared to find all the little things that make them worth differentiating...I just clump lots of different music together as "Rock".

a lot of musicians (or maybe just the ones I talk to) in metal don't want to be classified. they don't want to be lumped in because they think they are doing something new that no one has done before. they're disillusioned. very few artists this day actually break ground with a new sound or style and even that is raped from many other styles.

these names come from people trying to put a new spin or twist on an old theme.

that's my opinion anyhow.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.
