I do love me some Skoal. I think I may try packing a fatty in the cheek and drinking a Budweiser this evening and see how that goes. It wont be the same, but if I can gross out a bunch of people by spitting all night, it will be worth it.

Wonder if that will be considered a "public building"...

Talked to Tim yesterday at Jam Crib and he's making people go outside until he gets some clarification. It's technically a private club, but so far VFW halls and Legion halls haven't been exempted.

THIS is what really concerns me.

I run a workshop for mentally handicapped adults, about 1/3 of whom smoke. For decades, they've smoked outside on the porch by our side door. Now, because the porch isn't 20 feet away, they've been asked to stand out on the sidewalk by the road. Unfortunately, our awning doesn't cover the places our clients are now allowed to smoke. It's ok for now, but when it gets cold or rainy, I'm gonna have 50 pissed off MR clients smoking in the rain. It won't be pretty.

On a good note - thus far they've adapted to the change (smoking on the sidewalk instead of the porch) fairly well. I was dreading the inevitable revolt when things changed.

I am gonna start taking one last GIANT drag off my cig 20 feet from the door, and then exhale it as I walk in and thru the restaurant.

It looks like there is a party out in front of our building right now. About 15-20 people smoking on the sidewalk simultaneously.

i realized that I broke the law consistantly for about 3 blocks while driving down washington downtown near the grand wayne. I was smoking in the far left lane, which was looking to be a few feet less then 20. I would like the city put up signs on streets where the lane near street is less then 20 feet from a building. I don't want pulled over because I fail to measure the distance of every street to building.
