What do you mean by heavy(examples)? What age are you looking for?

Thanks

heavy as in.....

Post by wehslinger »

well lets see, first off, any age will do but prefer someone younger than 40 and older than 18 as long as you have talent. As far as how heavy or what influences, I would say, Hender, Fuel, Nickelback, Saliva, Godsmack, and many others. Thanks.

age???

Post by skippy »

what the h#ll...i guess everybody thinks if you're over 40 you cant cut it anymore! look around at some of the solo talent out and look at the guys in the band doing the grunt work and you'll see most are over 40. hmmm.. if you really are music savvy then you would know that those who have been there and done that know that it is not a question of age but of talent and refinement, but then there's that issue of image on stage! oooohh.."you guys got old farts in your band!! too bad...you could've got lucky tonite." and you might want to look at some of the ages of the players in some of those bands you mentioned, i do believe some are pushing the 40-40+ mark!? hmmmm...

40 is not to old to rock

Post by wehslinger »

Hey I just gotta post a reply to skippy, he is absolutely right, 40, 45, 50, whatever if you can rock it doesn't matter how old you are, so I take it back, I take it all back, anyone who can rock, that is the age requirement, I dont care if your young or old, if you can kick ass, then lets rock...... out.

over the hill??

Post by skippy »

thx..and i'm sure i speak for all us "middle-aged" players when i say thx!! you see, i've found that musicians generally peak in their abilities at various stages vs. athletes or other professions that are out in the public eye. as i'm sure cats like clapton, orbison, davis, hancock and others will attest to. i just don't like being "over the hill" because i don't care to play 220bpm of double-kick. but if that's where the bar is set for comparison, then yes i don't stack up and i certainly would'nt attempt to audition for a gig like that. after all like the man said.."a man''s got to know his limitations." i wish you well....

I'm a guitarist and my drummer and I are looking to start a heavy rock band as well. We play the same kind of stuff you mentioned in your post. I'll private message you with my email and phone number, so give me a shout and maybe we can jam!!! Oh, and we're both over 18 and under 40.

Hi, are you still looking for a guitarist and drummer? My drummer and I have been looking for a singer and bass player for some time now. We play stuff like Hinder, Deftones, Disturbed, Godsmack, Tool, Pantera, Metallica, Megadeth, Hurt, 3 Days Grace, Chevelle, Sevendust, 10 Years, Stone Sour, etc.

We're both in our 30's and have been playing for a long time. We have pro attitudes, pro equipment, an excellent practice space with plenty of room, and a large PA system. We want to get out and gig ASAP. We are on fire to jam! We just need to get with the right dudes.

PLEASE email me at: scotty_james2000@yahoo.com or call me at 260-341-7609. I'm open to jam pretty much anytime.

Rock On,
Scotty James
