I was so thrilled to see Patterson go...he was hogging up all my hope for years.

Favorite Cub to ever get away....EASY....Maddux! But he came back! So...Alou hurt, but he's not a true cub...George Bell...just kidding. Joe Girardi....just kidding again.

Who's yours?

I don't see Barrett hitting more than 20 HR's. Sure, he could have a breakout year but that's a big if.

And Jacque Jones is capable of 20+ HR's and 70-80 RBI's.

I see it more like this...

-----------------

1b-lee .320/40/110
2b-walker .285/10/40
ss-cedeno .260/3/30
3b-ramirez .285/30/95
of-jones- .265/15/60
of-pierre- .300/2/40/50 SB's / 100 R
of-murton .265/12/65
c-barrett .275/13/60

maybe Rafael Palmiero or Sammy Sosa....only because they were probably good at giving the team tips on improving their training regiment....if you know what I mean.

I was really bummed when Gracie left. Same with Alou & Maddux & Dawson.

Not to put a damper on anything, but I've an honest question. Why is North East Indiana so fascinated with the Cubbies? Why not Cleveland or Cinci?

Just curious.

I have often wondered the same thing. For me, Wrigley was the first place I saw a MLB game. So that's where it started.

I tend to think that the Cubs are just a more "sexy" team, because of all the media attention they get nationally. Even if they don't win...the are one of the more nationally covered teams in the league.

Also, I think that WGN has something to do with it. When I was growing up the Cubs were the only team I could watch on a regular basis. The "Superstation" definitely helped.
