8-3 CUBS WIN!

I think we might have a win streak on our hands.

Also, we could sweep instead of being swept!
Great news...for people who usually get bad news...unless you are a Sox fan, The Dude. :P

That's harsh, man.

Besides...I'm a Tigers fan now.

In times like these I usually have the Braves as a backup team, but they aren't doing so hot either....I should just turn off my TV for the rest of the summer.

The Braves? Oh man...not even their own fans support them. I like Smoltz but other than that, the rest of the team can piss off.

The Tigers are looking good. I hope they can keep it up. It's nice to see the perennial doormat do something. Same thing happened in the NBA with the Clippers. I hate basketball but I was rooting for them.

TRADE ALERT: Cubs trade Jerry Hairston Jr. to the Texas Rangers for Phil Nevin and cash.

the question I would like to propose is this:

What would a true Cubs fan think of this trade?

a) Too little too late.
b) There is plenty of games left for a comeback.
c) How long do you think it will be before Nevin gets hurt?
d) Now Jerry Hairston Jr. will become an allstar caliber player....or a least start taking steriods.

Cubs select RHP Jeff Samardzija from Notre Dame in the 5th round of the MLB draft. (for those of you who don't know, Jeff "the shark", was a great wide reciever on the football team this year) He went 8-2 this year with Notre Dame....considered a top 20 pitcher.

This makes me slightly happy. I am an Irish fan.

Carlos Zambrano, who allowed only one run in 7 2/3 innings against the Reds on Saturday, is 5-1 with a 1.54 ERA since the start of May. The only major leaguer with a lower ERA than Zambrano over that time is Jason Schmidt (1.15).
Carlos is coming around....could've been sooner, but I'm sure we will take anything we can get at this point.

Another Carlos....Carlos Marmol is looking good too. In his first MLB start:
6 innings 2 H 1 ER 3 BB 7 K His ERA in 3 games is 0.90
