hi, my name is Jake

-Born (12-22-1981) and Raised in Garrett Indiana
-Played Basketball a lot as a kid, turned down college opportunities play
-Attended Ball State between 2000-2002
-IPFW 2002 - 2005 Graduated: BA - Psychology, Associates - Business
-I'm really tall, and really hate to be told this.
-I love Carl Jung's psychology
-I enjoy reading very much
-My top three favorite possessions are my Ernie Ball Music Man Petrucci Model, my iRiver mp3 player, and my Ibanez JEM.
-I freakin love Coffee (Starbucks mostly...sorry corporate bashers)
-I'm currently focused on making music a career
-I someday plan on getting a PhD in Clinical Psych
-Between spring 2002 and summer 2004 I was a part of recording 2 full cds, and an EP (Sonorus self titled, Sonorus EP, Nurse's Walking Past)
-I had a brief stint with a Credit Union after college, then went on tour with Nurse for 3 months. from Indy, to NYC, to Atlanta. fun times.
-I can't remember the last time I got angry
-Some of my favorite CD's of all time include Dream Theater - Awake, Dredg - Catch without Arms, The Cure - Disintegration, Fates Warning - A Pleasant Shade of Grey, Porcupine Tree - In Absentia

Music: I started playing guitar when I was 15, and I've been in a few bands since I was 16 or so. I was in a band for a few years in high school, and then I joined Ft. Wayne prog band Sonorus when I was 19. That is why I left BSU actually. Sonorus had a nice run with an LP and an EP in about 2 years, and then the bassist, drummer, and myself (guitar) started a new band with vocalist extraordinare....Drew....a fellow who's voice we fell in love with a few years before.

Musical tastes: It all started with Neil Young. Then the Beatles and the Stones. Then a brief stint in Rap (Snoop and Dre yo). Then I was introduced to modern rock of the time with bands such as Offspring, Bush, Nirvana, and Fear Factory circa 7th grade. My Freshmen year I dove into a lengthy obsession with prog rock and shred guitar, including but not limited to....Dream Theater, Rush, Queensryche, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie Malmsteen, Savatage, Genesis, Tool, King Crimson, Fates Warning. In the past few years I've jumped into what I feel are bands that are more alternative, yet kinda proggy...some not of course....here ya go: The Cure, Dredg, Porcupine Tree, Abandoned Pools, Fiona Apple, Peter Gabriel, the Police, Sting, Muse, Sigur Ros, Chroma Key, Interpol, Circa Survive, Incubus, A Perfect Circle. And more.

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it. We had a great time at the show, and we're hoping to play there again.
