I'm working on a book

I've written a lot, but I need to edit a lot of it. Here's an excerpt:

"There are two parts in me.

There is the intellectual poet yearning to spread his ideas. And then there is the savage brute yearning for nothing more than a temporary fix for his desires.

The battle rages on. The brute is physically stronger than the intellectual. The intellectual falls victim to the whims of the brute, because the brute cannot lose, ever (that is part of who he is).

That is half of who I am. I am brute and I am anti-brute. I have tried to destroy the brute, but this is the intellectual speaking. I must destroy the intellectual, and this is the brute that speaketh.

No one wins in the end. I am one person, and I will be judged accordingly. No man is capable in this resort. Only God can determine my judgement.

Only the world can suffer through my pain. I am everyone, and I am no one. But no one knows this. The world is my ashtray and nothing worthwhile shall be left in its sake."

Probably not my best work, but I'd like to hear some feedback.
