So, does anybody else think this showdown with Iran is going to end up escalating into a full-fledged war and make the Iraq pullout debate completely moot?

I think it's scary that the Dems are emboldening them as we speak...

..... lil Mohammed sits reading the news on the internet,.....
reads about US Congress setting a pullback date (which he
interprets as retreat),.... then he comments to the rest
of his insurgent pals,.... " see those stupid Americans,.,..
I told you they wouldn't have the belly for it....all
we need to do now is sit back and wait"....

Hope Congress owns up to defeat that they'd be responsible for.

They'll blame it on Bush. I'm afraid we'll see another Cambodian crisis if we pull out too soon.

I hope no one votes big D in '08 come on a Sept. '08 pull out date, yeah that isn't political fodder either way it goes,

If we leave on good terms then it was democratic leadership that forced a quick end to this conflict in Iraq,

If we leave and a full scale revolution breaks out, i.e. current Iraqi government is beheaded at the hands of insurgents, then it was those Republicans and that idiot Bush that forced us into such a terrible, and expensive position in the Mideast

Pulling out is a hard thing to do when you try to democratize a nation that isn't capable of running any sort of Democracy we want there.

It'll be more like Democrazy whether we stay there or leave within the next 5 years. That's what happens when you don't have much of a plan of attack before initiating a war.

You know, I almost created a metaphor with the same idea in mind. You know, not pulling out and paying the price, and having to stay there for the long run and take care of what you started in the first place. haha!
