by the way if you really think America will vote for a ticket of an extremely liberal woman and an extremely liberal black man, we're either far more liberal than I think, or we're far less bigoted than a helluva lot of other people think, or we're both very liberal and extremely unbigoted. Still way too many rednecks out there who wouldn't vote for a conservative black man like Walter E. Williams, let alone one who's tied to Oprah's apron strings. Still too many men who wouldn't vote for a conservative woman, let alone a leftist whacko. On top of that conservatives - who would gladly vote for Condi Rice, Walter E. Williams, Thomas Sowell - etc... are willing to consider voting for a "moderate" like Rudi G. just to make sure Hillary doesn't win. If she gets the nomination the Republican candidate will win in a landslide and it will be chalked up to sexism, when in fact it's all about her political views.

Pollster.com has released updated polls today.
The IOWAhttp://www.pollster.com/08-IA-Dem-Pres-Primary.php, south carolina http://www.pollster.com/08-SC-Dem-Pres-Primary.php, and new hampshire http://www.pollster.com/08-NH-Dem-Pres-Primary.php all show OBAMA gaining ground on Hillary. And there's only a few more weeks left until they vote. Obama's got Oprah. Huckabee's already got Chuck Norris. who's Hillary got? Her husband? Yeah i guess that's a pretty good supporter! haha

Nope Bassjones I disagree. Hillbillies don't vote they make white lightning. Old people vote and now the hippies are retiring. Who do you think hippies are gonna vote for? The death machine of Bush and the Republicans? Or a bright young man like Barack Obama? The election is in the bag I tell you!

well no sh*t, what do u think bush is going to do with democratic backed bills that dont have 2/3 support? he's gonna veto them. no crap they cant get anything done.
.
I don't think that many people distrust mormons, I think a small few actually hold that against him, no more than won't vote for Hillary cause shes a woman, or Obama cause he's black. I have more faith than that in the American people.
Aww poor guys, that Bush is such a meany, if it weren't for him this country and congress would be the tops

honestly i dont think we can rely on the government for much of anything, except them forking us. elections are just a matter of who you think is gonna f**k you less. I used to consider myself an anarchist. I still distrust government and probably always will, but I don't necessarily think life would be all-around better if there wasn't a government. I think you just need to avoid them as best you can. It's an individual thing. Everyone has to do their best. Everyone's on their own. Get away from the government, stop getting messed.Aww poor guys, that Bush is such a meany, if it weren't for him this country and congress would be the tops

Screw that. "Let's privatize everything!" Pretty soon after they took control all the state parks and national forests would be logged, and the world would become an utter hell-hole. Libertarians have some good arguments and it seems obvious that some sectors might operate better if they were privatized. But education and the park system need to be kept public, because I distrust big business just as much as i distrust government. Health care needs to be public too.Answer = vote Liberatrian

completely disagree on schools as well. every private school in the country is better than their public school counterparts. many variables involved there, but it holds true in every community I've ever been in. The public schools don't do as well as the private schools. Do you really want the people who bumbled Katrina so badly, run the VA hospitals, run Medicare/medicaid/etc... to be in charge of your healthcare??? For uninsured Americans it'll be better than it is now. For the majority of us, who have our own private health insurance through work or self-insurance, it will be much, much, much, much worse.

I say education should be public because I think everybody should be entitled to free education no matter how much money they have. Education should be free, including college. I went to a private school in fort wayne for 8 years and let me tell you it was a piece of s hit. it was a catholic school and they didn't have enough money to pay teachers so often times the people they hired as teachers didnt have degrees. this is common practice in many private catholic elementary/middle schools. the teachers were unqualified and my parents were paying them lots of money for a shi tty education.
Now the Montessori schools are a different matter. from what i've heard and what i've seen, they're the best around. I think public schools should model themselves after the Montessoris. That way everyone can get the best education for free.
Thats my argument for public schools: everyone should be entitled to the best education for no cost.
As for health care, I think no one should be turned away because they don't have insurance. EVERYONE SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO MEDICAL CARE NO MATTER WHAT THEIR SOCIAL STATUS IN LIFE IS. And that is why I support a free public health care system.
All it takes is a little compassion to see that both these issues are important.
