I don't remember what part of the constitution that says the people cannot elect a socialist? I must have slept in Gov. class that day.
They can, but let's at least be honest about it. If you're a socialist, call yourself a socialist. Don't run as a major party candidate, although the Dems might as well change their name... Not that the Rs are any better.

Obama scares the hell out of me because he's weak. He's already said he'd have direct diplomatic talks with terrorists and tyrants. All that does is prop them up further and give more legitimacy to their hold on power. The only talks I'd have with Iran would be "If you build a nuke, you will cease to exist. Period." Same for Hamas. I'm a Reagan guy. Peace through victory.

all (3) major Dems argue that they're for "change" (the magic word).

Someone tell me which one's plan for "change" is better than
the other and why. And someone help me with the "35 years" of
experience that Hilliary has,... what is it?, when did it take place?

Lets say my dad is surgeon.

I have watched him perform surgeries day in and day out for 35 years, but never operated on anyone myself.

Would you let me operate on you?

Probably not.

So why would you elect Hilliary?

I still wonder how many decision are really made my one person, i.e. the president. I still think it is the people s/he surrounds the office with. And that is where all the change comes from, IMO...not one person.

I completely agree with you. The President is just the person who gets blamed for all the bad sh*t and takes the fall.

You don't do the surgery.

But you *could* be capable of running the office, handling the questions, managing the operating theatre, coordinating the staff...

You would surround yourself with specialists and administrators who each have their strengths.

I would hope your surgeon dad would too.

I hate talk about experience and politics. I don't get it. most politicol offices are held by elected officials and at one point or anothe had know experience but generally turn out to do a fair job.

Many conterversial figures in american politics got that way through slight change or complete reversal in thir political ideals. hey are generally your more experienced crop of political canidates.

I hope everone can learn some of the simple truths I have discoverd by reading the walls of jimmy johns.

I actually wrote a paper on this about a year ago, or at least the voting and election process. We have a less than majority voter turnout. Less than half of the eligible voters show up and vote. The power goes to those who get up, get out, and make a say. Researchers claim that a strong contributing factor to this low turnout is our (practically) bi-partisan electoral process. Yes, there are other parties, but they're discounted. France normally has higher than a 70% voter turn out and they attribute it to a multi-partisan environment.

Lump the lack of choices on top of people's lack of faith in the electoral college and you have a large part of the reason why voter turnout is so low.

Next, add the issue of willful ignorance. U.S. Americans are willfully ignorant and apathetic. They don't know and they don't care. Even if they did care, the system does such a good job of hiding the means to obtain the knowledge by cramming us full of mainstream media coverage that the people wouldn't feel they had reliable information anyway.

It's the Upper Class and High Society types that make the votes that win states. As long as the people in the middle class, lower class, and poverty levels don't know that they have the power to take over with their votes, then the fat cats continue living high on the hog. I'm not a liberal by any means. I would never call myself a democrat. In the same light, I'm not conservative or republican either. I'm non-denominational. Be successful! Make money! Yay! I'm happy for you! Don't do it at the cost of the quality of living of those around you, though. I just don't think it's very humanitarian regardless of how American it is or how capitalist it is.

My point: maybe I don't have one. Oh yeah. Educate yourself. Cast your vote. Encourage others to do the same even if you don't agree with them. The voice of the people must be heard!

Long live Zorro!
