Live your life in fear, then. Constantly looking over your shoulder for that "threat". Double-taking on other ethnic groups to make sure they "ain't doin' nuthin' suspicious". Go on.

no not at all,....

Here in the fort, Obviously I'd consider us an extremely low on the radar
screen,.. but for those in the more populous areas of the country,....
or places of "high profile" to be plain out complacent and unaware is just
how they'd like us to be.

when you place the lobster in the pot of
water and turn the flame up slowly at an even
pace, by the time it realizes its hot, it's too late.

No paranoia, just awareness!

I still call it the "fear bubble" that the current administration would like to keep their citizens in. Keep 'em afraid and keep 'em buying.

In other words, your risk of dying in a plausible terrorist attack is much lower than your risk of dying in a car accident, by walking across the street, by drowning, in a fire, by falling, or by being murdered.
I wear a seatbelt, I look both ways when crossing the street, I don't swim very often and when I do, I have a friend with me, etc... I take precautions and try to reduce risk. I'm even working on losing weight to lower my risk of weight related illness as I approach 40 (YIKES!!).
As I said, I have no problem with taking precautions but, I'm still gonna drive and I'm still gonna cross that street. However, (and this is not aimed at you bassjones) I'm not going to hate every car cause it MIGHT be the one that will kill me, and I'm not going to let someone feed my fear of cars to the point that I will support them to wander around and destroy whatever cars they have a personal agenda against that day.

Funny, as I was reading this thread, this song was playing.

TRUST THE SHAT-MAN for wisdom on the subject:

William Shatner You'll Have Time

(William Shatner/Ben Folds)

Live life
Live life like you're gonna die
Becasue you're gonna
I hate to be the bearer of bad news
But you're gonna die

Maybe not today or even next year
But before you know it you'll be saying
"Is this all there was?
What was all the fuss?
Why did I bother?"

Now, maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
Because you're gonna die.

Yes it's gonna happen because it's happened to a lot of people I know
My mother, my father, my loves
The president, the kings and the pope
They all had hope

And they muttered just before they went
Maybe, I won't let go
Live life like you're gonna die
Because you are

Maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
'Cause you're gonna die

I tell you who else left us
Passed on down to heaven no longer with us
Johnny Cash, JFK, that guy in the Stones
Lou Gehrig, Einstein, and Joey Ramone
Have I convinced you?
Do you read my lips?
This may come as news but it's time
You're gonna die
You're gonna die

By the time you hear this I may well be dead
And you my friend might be next
'Cause we're all gonna die

Yeah, oh maybe you won't suffer and maybe it's quick
But you'll have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time
You'll have time cause you're gonna die
Yes, you're gonna die
You're gonna die, I tell you
You're gonna die
You are gonna die

'Cause maybe you won't suffer maybe it's quick
But you have time to think
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?
You'll have time 'cause you're gonna die

Live Life
Life life like you're gonna die
Because you're going to
Oh yes
I hate to be the beater of bad news
But you're gonna die

Maybe not today or even next year
But before you know it you'll be saying
"Is this all there was?
What was all the fuss?
Why did I bother?
Why did I waste it?
Why didn't I taste it?"
You'll have time, baby
You'll have time
'Cause you're gonna die
You are gonna die
Oh yeah
