Trainhoppers hated on in today's Journal-Gazette

Post by adam atherton »

Kid-friendly music needed at event

I applaud Fort Wayne’s Downtown Improvement District for organizing Freimann Family Thursdays this summer. But Fort Wayne’s children deserve more than face-painting, sidewalk chalk and balloons.

I’m sure all of the bands that will be performing are fine in their own right and in the appropriate adult setting. But with the numerous talented award-winning family music artists across the county – who perform in a variety of genres – why were only adult-oriented bands/singers booked for this family event?

Let’s hope Trainhoppers do not sing their alcohol song with these lyrics:

“Where are you, alcohol/I’m in need of a friend/If I wake up sober again/It just might be the end.â€

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but is it possible GJC has a bee in her bonnet that her husband didn't get hired to perform at this event?

sounds pretty petty to me too. . .

anyone remember "Puff the Magic Dragon?" that was a kid's song. . .and it has, ahem, questionable content.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

...little jackie paper loved that magic puff... hmmm....

Classic case of sour grapes. Trainhoppers are great family fun. My daughter sings along to their CD all the time - and keep in mind, I'm a James Dobson type of parent - well, most of the time anyway

And here I was thinking the Trainhoppers were done as of their Embassy Beatles tribute.

As president of Blue Vision Music, Georgean oversees marketing, promotion, sales, customer service and business administration. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology as well as a Master's in Education.

Her experience in the nonprofit field, holding executive positions and as an independent consultant, has equipped her with a sensitivity to all our client's needs. Georgean has worked as a consultant with many national organizations including Goodwill, M.A.D.D. and The Points Of Light Foundation. She'll make sure every project is done right and to the complete satisfaction of every client.

Matt and whomever can get along at the moment are still performing under the "Trainhoppers Three" (or maybe 4 sometimes) moniker... and wow, she's awfully young to have accomplished so much

What's with the eyeroll? Yeah, that letter was ill-advised, but she HAS accomplished a lot and is respected in the community.

It's really junior high to dog-pile on somebody for a single mistake in judgement. That letter doesn't make Georgean a through-and-through devil... are you going to start ragging on her haircut next?

Just that she looks REALLY young in that picture - like 12 or something. I'm not denying her accomplishments, but that letter was pretty crappy. Trainhoppers are one of the best things to happen in this town in a looooong time (personal crap aside), and I thought it unprofessional of her to take it to the papers like that.
