Re: what Ollie, cwallace and Fleek said.

We've looked into it, and the time slots that we can afford would actually reach our target audience. Spot on, in fact.
We can't afford to run during Grey's Anatomy, obviously, but we'd hit the wierdo market, which is exactly where we want to be.

Al, you have to realize who you were dealing with on that one.
1. I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. - Romans 15

Read the fine print and ask about getting bumped, and what channels it will air.

The second someone offers a $1 more... your spot gets axed.

Trust me.

Its what I do.

Well honestly they were treating us well for a while. But we got completely shafted that night. I am sure the WH walked out with a boat load of money too after playing 6 20minute songs.

All is not what it seems until you see an air schedule and a potential bill in front of you.
Actually, I've seen an air schedule and a bill, and they were dirt cheap. We know who are target audience is, and we know what shows/networks they would like. They aren't necessarily the most desired networks and spots that the cable company has to offer. No matter what you do, it pays to know the audience you are trying to attract and focus accordingly.

No disrespect to the Wailhounds, but Legends swings from their nuts. It's "their" (WH) annual Thanksgiving show. You shouldn't be surprised.

I was excepting them to make more before I found out that they were using our equipment and we were getting shafted on time slots.

There's a reason Legend's "swings from their nuts"... They normally bring out a great crowd. PM is starting to do the same, so you should ask for pay accordingly. Once WHN gets to the point where the bar is consistently packed and buying drinks, we'll be upping our asking price, I guarantee you that.

Shouldn't that fall under the "know your audience" category? I mean, Legend's SPORTS BAR on Thanksgiving Thursday night with a Colts game starting at 8:15...I guess that just seems to be a no-brainer to me...

Even if they didn't THAT night. They normally do, so they got the time slot they wanted and they got paid more. period.

My point is that we were told and under the impression until the moment we arrive to load in...

Time Slots were alternating

Us (open), them, Us, Them (Close)
Show starts at 10pm

What ended up was

Hey can we use your equipment?
Hey you cant play until 11:30
Hey we changed the schedule

Oh and BTW you are getting paid the same as anyother night.
