Anyone heard/seen them before? They're playing at a party on 10/6 and before I decide whether or not to go, I want to know if they're any good and what kind of music they play.

While I respect your opinions regarding radio rock, modern rock, and the like, I have to say that I enjoy that style of music and feel abused at the constant degrading marks made toward it. It's almost like you're not allowed to like anything mainstream around here. It's kind of childish.

Hey, I listen to 98.9 every day, I like it too. I just thought it was the easiest way to describe the set list to The Dude, because I know he does not enjoy that type of music.

I know too. This isn't really the thread for it, I guess. I just get tired of taking indirect shots for what I like. Sorry to railroad the thread.

Fleek and I have pretty similar tastes in music. I thought his response was to the point which is why I clapped. I certainly don't expect everyone to enjoy what I enjoy, and if they did, I'd probably enjoy it less... No slam intended on those who like more mainstream heavy rock type stuff. A lot of it is well done, just not my thing is all.

98.9 isn't all bad. My biggest complaint is that there just isn't the variety that I'd enjoy. I guess that variety isn't the name of the game at a hard rock station, but I'd really appreciate someone stepping up and filling the void left by 102.3 (previously 96.3). The closest thing I can find is 91.1 - the Homestead High School station. I used to love new music, but now I've soured on the vast majority of it. Problem is, I'm sure there is some great alternative type stuff out there and I can't seem to find it anymore. Maybe that's a me problem - maybe I've thoroughly DeVitoed this thread. Oops.

I feel like a crotchety old man complaining that all this new music is just noise, and music was better when I was young. I'm only 27. That's ridiculous.

As if I haven't heard crap for liking "stinky hippy music".

It's not that I don't like mainstream music. I do like some. It's the fact that I don't like the mainstream crap that is regurgitated OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

A guy can only handle so much Metallica and AC/DC before flippin' his lid.
