I NEED INFO ON YOUR BAND!!

Post by tiny »

I've had a couple of local venues (okay, three) ask me about booking bands. Two of the venues are bar-type gigs, one is a potentially all-ages venue. So I'm putting out a call to local bands. Yes, I know that all this information is already here, or on Myspace, or on band websites....well, you get the picture. I'm trying to get it all in my hands, in an easy to use format. SO........

What I need:

Name of the band
Type of music
Do you have your own PA?
Are members 21+? (for bar gigs)
How much for a performance (give me minimums and maximums so I've got some room to negotiate)
Contact info
And any other info you want to send.

I've even set up a separate e-mail account for this project. bookmybandtiny@yahoo.com.

I know not everyone will want to respond, but for those that do, I thank you in advance. And by the way, I'm not just looking for classic rock bands--all genres are welcome.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Any insight into WHO these bars are?

I find it interesting that a bar would go to you for this info when it seems EVERYONE is looking for gigs.

No disrespect there, Tiny...just curious.

But Ollie.....

I work with music.

I hang out in bars.

Ergo, I am an expert on music in bars, right?

Not to be coy, but I can't tell you (for competitive, and professional reasons) who the bars in question are. They both are considering adding live music where little (or none) have been in the past....but they don't want to go to the cost of getting a house PA unless they're pretty sure bands will work; and they don't want to be deluged with inquiries from the EVERYONE looking for gigs that you allude to. Hence, consider me not so much a booking agent, but a screener, if you will. Although I've been toying with the idea of acting as an agent for some time....and still might if the opportunity arises. Early morning hours can come in handy for that.

ANYway...I've got a couple ears right now. If anyone wants me to bend those ears on their behalf, get me some info. I'll tell you more when I can.
