There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

I was trying to discern, but could not get enough features in my brain to make the distinction.

This is another case of my being more interested in the goings on behind a movie than the movie itself. I couldn't get enough of reading about King Kong's behind the scenes pieces, yet had no interest in seeing the movie. Having found Spiderman to be okay and the sequel to be not worth finishing, I've no interest in seeing the third installment. I am glad to see Thomas Hayden Church getting higher level work, shame the same couldn't be said for Bruce Campbell.

I'm all about the Spiderman series. I've been a big fan of the comics for years (like 20) and so far 1 and 2 were incredible, IMHO of course. With 2 being so awesome I'm eager to see 3.

It helps that I'm a comic book fan-boy and this is one of my favorite characters.

I was not eager about King Kong. I think it was some lingering post-Matrix issues...

I am a big fan of both Spidey movies, but never read the comic books. Could someone please explain the Venom character to me (and hopefully someone other than just me doesn't know about him either!). Thanks!

Here's the brief breakdown.

Venom is actually a sentient Symbiote.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbiote_(comics)

From wiki:
A symbiote is a living alien organism that bonds with another living organism (usually a human, although it may bond with animals) in order to survive. Since it has no classifying name, it is referred to as a "symbiote" because of its symbiotic relationships. Often it appears as a "Living Costume" because of the way the amorphous creature envelopes its host.

Spiderman picked it up on an alternate world, during the orignial Secret Wars. He used a machine to fix his costume, but used the wrong machine. The symbiote tried bonding to him and he was able to defeat it. Won't say anymore....don't want to ruin the surprise.

dude, i just realized that in the first two spidermangs, it really illustrates nicely the stressors of being a scientist. grants grants research research research grants research grants grants grants. they must be really sympathetic towards scientists.
