Well, I think it still needs to be said...
It is a good place to meet people, so parents should not automatically have a negative connotation. Say my daughter (btw, I have no kids) met someone online and had been talking to them a lot and wanted to meet up someplace. I would be open to that, but would want to make sure that she was ok and might suggest going to a public place, with friends, or probably accompany her on the first meeting...
I mean, just like with dating, parents want to meet the people and friends their kids are hanging out with. I mean, I remember when I was in school, it wasn't ok just to say I am going to so and so's house that my mom didn't know about...
Obviously, there are going to be secrets, but like Jambrea said, common sense still has to be used, and if it is not coming from the kids, the parents have to bring some of it to the table for them!
myspace sued, but who's really at fault?

Took me an hour to read all this.
.
And I agree with Qwetty about these girls not knowing right from wrong.15 is plenty old enough to know what they are doing, and by now they have all heard the stories of people meeting online and getting raped or attacked or robbed. I think 12 is old enough. Each generation is starting to get into things earlier and earlier.
