Fox 55 in HD?

Post by Haggard »

I was talking with a guy at work and he claims someone living in Avilla can receive the Fox 55 signal in HD where they are at. I live within ten miles of the tower and do not get it. My question is, does anyone get the Fox 55 HD signal through a regular over the air antenna? I would like to know if it is possible.

It's not possible to receive an HD signal through an analog antenna.

In Avilla. . .is that even in 55's viewing range? It may be a different Fox network. Olliver's Army works for Fox55, and he assures us that there is NO HD from their station at this time.
There are 10 types of people in the world.

Those who understand binary. . .

. . .and those who don't.

Actually, local stations are recieved in HD through an analogue antenna. You still have to own an HD receiver to process the information (i.e. Dish network, comcast, or built in you TV). 15, 21 & 33 are all broadcast in HD, Fox 55 DEFINITELY is not.

I never said there *wasn't* a digital signal.

I believe here is a low-watt simulcast right now and it's nearly impossible to get.

Yeah, I receive it digitally on my HD channel designated for Fox 55, but it's definitely not HD.....It's actually horrid.

Just trying to clarify & let people know that there is a difference between a "digital" picture & an "HD" picture.......Not complaining.

I can get Fox55's digital broadcast on my outside antenna at home...

But there's no reason to since it's a 480i signal.

I can get Fox28 from my house on a semi-regular basis...and I can get most of South Bend in HD.

Basically, HD from Fox55 is a 2008 issue at best.

Thats bizarre because the antenna on my roof has been there for twenty years and it is plugged directly into my HD TV and it does in fact get an HD signal. There must be some sort of trickery.

An antenna can receive any signal, digital or analog.

Let's bring this back up. It has been nearly a year since I first asked. Has anything changed over at FOX? The email I got back from the guy at FOX last time claimed no money.

You should read this thread....

Apparently they are sending 720p on low power. Need to get someone to move my antenna. Anyone want to climb on a roof (when the snow melts by Thursday)?
