When was the first one? Someone at work is asking and she thinks she went...heh...

I wanted to confirm the last date for her...

She is going to this for sure.

The first one was June 30th. It exceeded everyones expectations. Pictures can be found at www.myspace.com/rocknthefort There have been many improvements for this show and we feel we have a VERY strong band lineup for this showcase.

Thanks for the support and hope to see you there,

Paul

Cool...She thought it was in May, but I was pretty sure it was June after we thought about it...

She LOVED the show. So this was a good thing for her to see it on the site and she and her man and some other friends are for SURE attending..:)

I was yanked out of town this morning so I could not attend...

How was it? The weather of course sucked so I hope it didn't effect it...

Anyone?

I stayed for the first two bands (us and Waking Abbott). I was sick so I needed to leave. It appeared that the weather did have an effect on the turnout while I was there. Still an assload of people though. I breathed in fog from the fog machines for nearly 4 hours though from sound check to taking the stage so that didnt get along with my dry throat.

I would love to here from someone that was there all night.

It was a great show and I was happy to see such a great turn out for a local original show. I enjoyed Pleasing Melani the most because they were the most diverse and fun to watch... those guys should have headlined the show!

Hey thanks a lot man. We had a good time. We werent sure how people would respond since it was mostly a hard rock esq show and we have no particular genre. Judging by the hits to myspace today, people dug us a lot!

Headline? Maybe next year, ya never know!

Please people realize this is a subjective post!! I watched the whole show from an outsiders view.

Pleasing Melanie:

You guys did a great job for a band added last to the show. You were very loose and at times there were chaotic parts to your songs that I couldn't understand. Also, you guys tuned way too much between EVERY song. Buy some tuners and keep the set progressing!! It was great to hear a band "trying" something different. It looked like you were having a blast on stage and that is HUGE!!! It was a refreshing change of style but you have to bring it!! The upside of your potential is by far the greatest!!

Waking Abbott:

Nice guys!! You had alot of energy that was conveyed and the crowd felt it too!! The song choice was weaker than usual and it showed as the set went on. Please remember that every show is huge and there is alot of potential if everything is put together just right!!

A New Definition:

I wish I was on the party bus. Seriously...these guys brought a bus full of crazy ASS fans from OH to see them rock it out. Personally I feel the Metallica style bands are played out but these guys add an extra pop sound. Its hard to explain but I truly felt they wanted tomake a statement more than any other band and it showed. Great job guys...keep promoting and you will be great!!

Teays Vein:

A decent show from you!! You had one of the best slots and I dont think you capitalized at all. It was a very loose set...I believe you had to end one song early bc the band/singer was off time. The actual music carried you through the night but in the end it felt like it was a "half ass" set. You did a great job on a local level but if you want to make a push you need to "bring it" in big time situations like this!!

Sirface:

I thought you were washed up!! Seriously..I hadnt heard anything for awhile and I thought the band was done. Last night you brought it!! The only band that had to tell their fans to settle down or they cant play more!! PLEASE local bands: you promoted like no other!! Please local bands, take a note and realize, "YOU HAVE TO PROMOTE". Sirface's set was full of energy and it payed off when they were the only band granted an extension of their set for one more song. Their hard work and dedication showed and proved they are a force in Ft Wayne!!

Pheen:

Ok...the smallest crowd by far...but your fans supported you!! A very tight show, probably the best of all the bands. You put on a great rock show and have all the characteristics of a band to "make it." Personally I would recomend you investing in some better gear and booking more shows. Tone is all that you are lacking and it was obvious as the crowd dwindled bc the music was there.

To the promoters: Absolute great sound and lights!! Seriously...this kicked the sh*t out of Pierres TEN FOLD!! Everything was professionally done and all the hard work paid off!! You cannot say enough about a group providing a chance for local music to shine at the colesium!! I will be at every single show!!

TO ALL: This is a subjective opinion and by no means should I decide your own. This is what I felt as a local and LOYAL music supporter.

I am not sure why after 3+ years of playing people still cannot spell our name right! :)

Our guitarist just got his guitar back from the shop the night before and had some issues with it. Our other guitarist had to work late and missed sound check. His levels were left blaring in our monitors. We had no time to change that before taking the stage we all suffered from it, especially me (drums).

Bottomline, we opened (aka sound checked for the rest of the bands playing that night) we knew that we would be the act that got the kinks worked out of the sound. Anyone opening on a system that large should expect that.

Good review though thanks.

Kudos. I love seeing reviews like this and not just "PM rocked!" or "WA rules!" Insight and constructive criticism. You ought to write more reviews for the site.

As i saw it (in regards to kimaliz responce) the were 2 monitor techs at the monitor board which was right beside the stage all night long and if there were any monitor issues they could of been addressed anytime during the show. I saw other bands communicating to the techs to make changes during the show. I thought is was a rocking a#$ show all the bands were great some more polished than others. Kudos to Mid West Sound and Surreal Records for a great show looking forward to the next.

I didnt blame anyone but ourselves for our guitarist being late and not getting a chance to soundcheck with him.
