I like Anderson's idea a LOT. That would work for DJing, too.

Alternately, I just tell the drunk, obnoxious mothertrucker to get his drum kit out of his girlfriend's car, and get set up so the gig can start.

Works for me.

Great jingle. I'd be happy to help in any way possible to recreate it. It's more fun than the current Festival as a whole.

Now, if I could just find a copy of the old Belmont Liquors jingle.......

The Mad Ants get some support, and interest is growing. (DISCLAIMER: I run the sound for the games. I'm a subcontractor, and not an employee of the team. Having said that, obviously, I'm rooting for them to succeed.) The Ants attendance is as good as anyone in the D League (last I checked, they're i...

For the record, and someone correct me if I'm wrong.... but the petition drive was mandated in the case of the School Board vote by statutes. One bozo on Council decided that bars can't allow smoking, and got some other bozos to vote along. I still say you should be able to smoke in bars. Auggie Smi...

Ando... Just a suggestion for us calendrically-challenged folks.... Put "Saturday" or "Saturday Night" somewhere on the poster...."Saturday December 28th" works better than "December 28th 2007"...I know what year it is, but I'm confused about the day..... BTW, for what it's worth, I like em both...b...

True enough. BE a regular...get preferential treatment. And I'll grant you, I'm not a regular at Mid City by any means. But with the current attitude toward non-regulars, I won't even be an occasional. No skin off their nose, I'd wager. But how many others have had the same kinds of experiences, and...

Don't get me wrong, Al (or anyone else.) I support a partial repeal of the smoking ban. I believe that they DO have a right to run their business in their way. My gripe was that their way, at least the night I was there to see the Freak Brothers, was to ignore the city ordinance forbidding smoking (...

Guys....It was well before midnight, in the first or maybe the second set. The bartender just didn't give a feck who he irritated. And I would have brought it up to the manager, if I thought it would have done any good. Instead, I just vowed not to go back. They don't give a damn about what I think....

A little smoking ban story... Went to Mid City the other night. Was confronted by the bartender and several (4-5) patrons at the bar smoking. Others at the bar complained. Bartender basically told the non-smoking patrons to f off...he wasn't putting out his cigarette, and he sure as hell wasn't aski...

Yep...and a bartender that smokes at the bar despite the smoking ban, and doesn't give a damn if the patrons (not me, but several around me the other night) b*tch about it.

No thanks...I'm voting with my feet. See you at Paula's, etc.

Damn.

Wish I had thought of that excuse.

Whenever you find them, I would be happy to unclutter your home, and further clutter mine, with some more recorded material from local artists. No hurry though.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Hey....

As an oldtimer, I don't like this newfangled computer download crap you youngins talk about. Any chance of grabbing an old school, good ol' shiny metal copy of this sure to be collectible holiday classic?

Let me know.

Brad--

Although you're one of the more principled people I know, I believe you're the principal bass chair at church.

Just my hyper-picky former copywriter self rearing its ugly head.
