I followed Mark Magdich's music (20 ? years) from L.A. and was surprised to see him in Ft Wayne. When an individual or groups talent or works are criticized I have to take issue. Just because you may not like the particular style, era of music played, or appearance of band members does not form cred...

While I respect your opinions regarding radio rock, modern rock, and the like, I have to say that I enjoy that style of music and feel abused at the constant degrading marks made toward it. It's almost like you're not allowed to like anything mainstream around here. It's kind of childish. You can p...

Re: Here you go
Actually a chord can just have two notes. more then one note is a chord. there is different kinds of chords besides the typical major, minor, major 7. dominant 7 , minor dominant 7. I'll put the notes down all in C for example. Dominant 7 C E G Bb Minor Dominant C Eb G Bb Augmented C E G# Augmented...

I stand corrected, thank you. Been thinking too much on performance royaltys lately.. However, you still need to check with HFA for that side of the house too.Silencio wrote:Harry Fox doesn't collect performance royalties. They collect mechanical rights fees for MOST (not all, but virtually all) publishers.

There was a time when fees were charged to join ASCAP. This no longer holds true. membership is free AFTER you qualify for membership. Check with ASCAP for further info on this. BMI does charge a fee and annual "dues". As far a tracking royalties, ASCAP, BMI, SESAC...etc...are just part of it. Also ...

I have found that at FWM, if a comment is made, someone always tries to make a big issue of it. And this shoe definately fits you (Oliver). I think Jen got my point. O.K. Then let's classify all "playing" musicians as "professionals" and be done with it. I think the issue was, though not stated, the...

I would still like to hear your definitions of "hobbyists" and "professionals" and how one effects the other. I see apples and oranges. What can I say..if you can't figure out the difference between the two. Of course you'd probably take it to the next step of wanting to define Amateur, Hobbyist, S...
