I recently remembered that I have a good stash (100+) of old records that my father-in-law gave me when we bought their house. Well, the bank bought it, but we're paying (out the ass) for it.

Anyhow, when I got my turntable, the wife got me Nirvana - Nevermind and Pearl Jam - Vs. In addition to that, right now I'm listening to Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle.

God, I forgot how much more soulful music sounds on vinyl.

I used to pop into the N. Anthony Wooden Nickel and scour through the vinyl here and there. I started buying records, and thinking, "what the hell do I do with it?", because I didn't have a record player...so I started hanging them on my wall. Cool ass decorations, if you ask me!

I ended up with:

The Police - Synchronicity and Ghost in the Machine

Genesis - Selling England by the Pound and Foxtrot

Sting - The Dream of the Blue Turtles

Rush - Presto

Peter Gabriel - 1, 2,3,4 and So

and no 80's vinyl collection is complete without...Yngwie Malmsteen's RISING FORCE

Yeah, that's probably me every six months.

Is it difficult to hum sweep arpeggios? I've never tried that...

From an econmomic perspective I can download one 99 cent song from itunes.... or I can get a whole album of songs without any of that nasty lossy MP3 compression.
