William Elliott Whitmore – Banjo, Guitar, Vocals
William Elliott Whitmore, born in 1978, is a deep-blues vocalist and musician from Lee County, Iowa. He has recorded a number of albums released on Southern Records. His act mostly consists of playing the banjo or guitar while singing, though on occasion he performs a cappella. His gravelly, world-weary voice, belying his obvious youth and captivating performances have drawn some comparison to Tom Waits and Johnny Cash. While his vocal range may be reminiscent to these artists, this comparison also extends to his ability to fuse together musical genres and respective audiences. While he has earned much acclaim from the folk, blues and alt-country communities he is also rooted in the hardcore punk community. Whitmore re-connects twentieth century blues with contemporary hardcore, punk, and rock. He found a close friendship in the members of Ten Grand with whom he traveled and opened for on many tours.

Whitmore has toured with The Pogues, Murder By Death, Clutch, Lucero, Ten Grand and Red Sparowes, among many others.
