Anyone ever used A&R Select?

Post by beck »

We have been contacted by a talent scout at A&R Select out of Hollywood. They said they heard Big Mama on the radio, and want us to use them for publicity. Everything sounds legit, but just curious if anyone has used them before. Would love some feedback.

#1. Don't offer to pay for ANYTHING.
#2. If they give you a contract, get a lawyer. Have them reimburse you the legal fees, don't have them pay for the lawyer directly.
#3. google is your friend.

CD Baby - A&R Select

Souds like a vanity publishing firm....you "pay" them and they "shop" your music around.

Get a copy of their service agreement and have it reviewed by your attorney.

Get references from at least a dozen of their current clients, see what they've done for them.

Check out their record with the Better Business Bureau.
