As some of you may know, I coached for the Flash two years ago. Last year I picked up their website and did stats for them.

This year, I'm still with the team working on the website, switching to game filming duties (stat taking really kinda sucked last year!).

Anyways, the first home game is April 26th (so just a few weeks away). The team moved from Homestead field to Saint Francis' football field, so they have a really nice facility. All home games start at 4pm, so you are not losing out on your weekend.

Oh, and the games are really inexpensive. You can get a full home season pass (which is like 4 or 5 games) for a total of $15.

And just so you know, the FW Flash is a women's full-contact outdoor football team. Last year was their first full season, going .500 (they had an exhibition season with 4 games in 2006). Most of the women were rookies last season, but this year, they are returning all but like 3 or 4 players. Three rookies joined the team and they picked up four 4+ year veterans from other teams...so they really could go far this season.

For football purists, the games are fun to watch. I'd say they are similar to Division III college games, with more of a running game focus. There are a few teams in the league with some solid QBs that will air it out, but they are few and far between.

And even if you don't like football, the team would love your support. These women are always giving back to the community, recently helping with a Special Olympics Bowling Day and the Turnstone Casino Night (helping to raise over $48,000 that night). This team has solid local management and is really a great group to get behind and support!

Even if you are skeptical, give it a chance and come out to a game. These women are local mothers, police officers, firefighters and business women that love the game of football.

The Flash just put a butt-whoopin' on Dayton over the weekend, 59-0. This team is a whole lot better in their second year in the league. 250 yards on the ground and while less than 100 yards passing, there were 3 TDs in the air. Opening kickoff returned 75 yards for a TD...

And the team will be home (at Saint Francis) this Saturday (4/26)...its still early in the year, but this team could be looking at a huge year if they stay away from injury. You don't want to miss out on this team!!!

The Flash lost in OT, 6 - 7. West Michigan has been 3-0 lifetime against the Flash. They are always tough games and the defense always sets the tone.

It was a bit cool at Saint Francis stadium this weekend, but several hundred fans did come out to cheer the Flash on. So, we stand at 1-1 with a bye week this week. We travel down to Indianapolis on 5/10 and will be back home on May 19th.
