I voted, no, but pretty close. And really, it depends on where I am at.
I'm a business analyst by trade, which means I get paid to scrutinize every little detail and argue (for or against) the opinions of other people (when dealing with how to go about designing things in software).
So, when I'm at work, I am quite argumentative, as clearly defining requirments saves everyone time and money. And that basically means forcing other people to clarify themselves down to the minutae. Granted, at work, I benefit from budgets, time and workload...so those limits direct me on how much time I am going to spend arguing...there's not really that same limit on a public forum:)
Unfortunately, the majority of time I spend on this board is during work hours, so I am in that analysts mindframe...
In real life, I'm not going to hone in on the details as much. And face-to-face, I usually don't even care to get into as lengthy of discussions with people.
Are you as argumentative in real life as you are on here?

I also voted "no, but pretty close" because I have the same situation as deek. The only real difference between here and IRL is the filter. IRL, I filter a lot of things out and don't say them. Here, the filter gets shaken out a bit.
I still think the same way, but I generally refrain from arguing as much because what to me is discussion, to most is argument. Blame my high school speech coach. She put me in parliamentary debate. We were required to research both the pro and con sides of the list of topics for the meet. It was then that I realized that I could honestly find ground on any side of the coin/fence/whatever.

There are 10 types of people in the world.
Those who understand binary. . .
. . .and those who don't.

in real life I'm pretty happy-go-lucky and laid back. I'm even a little quiet, believe it or not, until you get to know me, then I'll open up some, but it takes a while and I don't argue very much at all.
