Anyone been to the Childrens Zoo yet this year?

I was very dissapointed.

$9.50 per adult, $4 2 lap pony ride. $2 pop

Plus a major part of the Zoo is not even open but they will sure charge you to take a ride over the construction.

Call me a frugal butthead but spending $70 bucks at the zoo is not for me.

Which is why you get the family membership for $69.00 which gives you free admission for 12 months for two adults and all children living at that address. If you plan on going more than once a year, this really is the best way to go.

I love the zoo. I always have. the family pass is the way to go!

You just had to ask....

The zoo is worth it, especially the membership. If you go twice a year, it's worth it. Plus, there are other goodies and such.

Spent the night on the aquarium floor...my back is still pissed at me for doing that, but it's "for the children". The zoo is much nicer than it's larger brethren and is easy enough to drag the kids through in an afternoon.

Plus, it's free parking :-)

I've never been to the FW zoo.

Actually, the Cincinnati Zoo is the only zoo I've ever been to.

I agree! I buy a family pass every year. It's a good investment.

Membership is the way to go....it makes it WAY more managable too....
I have 8 little siblings between the ages of 3-9...I'll take em for an hour or two instead of having them cooped up at home. I dont feel so bad not making a day or a big deal of it if its already payed for. Last summer for instance, my mother breaks her ankle and had a few appointments that I had to drive her to AND babysit...easy as hell to just run to the zoo and kill an hour and a half. By the end of the summer it'll be cheaper than chucke cheese or mcdonalds...and they wont be as sick from playing on the dirty dirt play equipment.

Also, I believe a membership at fort wayne zoo also gets you membership at a big list of other zoos across the country?

If you get the $94 membership you get discounts at over 100 other zoos, but it's not free admission.

Just be glad we have it.

FWCZ is nationally recognized as one of the best childrens zoos in the country.

Think about all the other crap you blow on $9.50

Every time I go to the zoo, I have to spend 19.00. . .

They make me buy 2 tickets - one to get in and one so they'll let me back out!

I agree with buying a pass. My wife and I were just talking about this over the weekend. We're not getting a pass this year (my son is only 9 months old) but next season for sure. If we go more than two times, it will save us money.

With kids, we are somewhat limited on fun things to do already, so this really adds a fun thing to do every other weekend for a couple hours. Once you get out of that mindset of going to the zoo once a season, then it will make a lot more sense.

Well we have been trying very hard to conserve money over the last year.

I can see that the pass would be a better deal, but I cannot be sure enough that we have the time to use it enough for it to be worth it.

I guess I was really supprised at the 2 dollar pop machines and other high costs throughout the park. That is something I would expect at a money grubbing place such as Disney, Universal, or some other Theme Park.

Something that is mainly an educational place for younger children should not be doing that. However I could be wrong.

I don't imagine the animals, environments and feed comes cheap.
