Apparently it's up to 32 dead now and 28 injured, but they expect the death toll to climb higher...

My thoughts and prayers go out to those students and their parents...

What bothers me is how this is still todays news, and already these deaths are being used to push to gun control agenda, for the love of God the bodies are still warm

(This isn't happening on this board, but believe me it is on others)

What bothers me is people like Hillary Clinton are still alive and these people are all dead.

I hate events like this, not only are they a tragedy in an of themselves, but scared people use it to promote their own agendas, Groups like the NRA want to use it as an excuse to get guns in more hands, while the Brady campaign uses it to promote gun bans.

All I know is that the Bill of Rights protects many things, leave it a lone, that goes double for the patriot act.

This is one of the sickest and saddest incidents I've read about in years. 32 people killed, and then the gunman kills himself.

Immediately noticed how the press is automatically playing
Monday morning QB on this.

Instead of focusing on the deranged(maybe) S.Korean
punk that decided to chain the doors shut internally and
calmly play turkey shoot, and then blast in his own face so as
to make it more difficult to ID him,....
All which obviously makes this predmeditated and planned.

INSTEAD!
They focus on "who's/what's too blame",.. the usual it's
the president of the campus, it's the gun laws, it's the
lack of security, it's the lack of communication. All the while
blantantly forgetting about the victims and the grieving
process that's going on for them.

All without even getting the facts first.

I've heard a lot of people already getting blamed for this, but mostly I agree with something I heard on the radio today. I'll paraphrase it here to the best of my abilities.

In a free country you have mostly great days, but once in a while a tragedy strikes. There is no way to prevent a deranged man with a gun from accessing a 2600 acre campus. Unfortunately it is a function of the system under which we live (i.e. no marshall law) that sometimes this crap is gonna happen. The police and school administrators did what they thought was best at the time. Never in the history of this country has one shooting in a dorm turned into 33 people dead in an academic hall. They couldn't have predicted it, even after the first shooting.

Barring total marshall law there is no way to have prevented something like this. Let's stop blaming and help start healing.

20/20 hind site is a crock of sh*t. everyone is a damn expert the day after.

Same thing after Katrina we were blaming people while survivors were trapped on the roof, Said best on South Park "Dad they're gonna save those people trapped on the roofs, right?" response "of course Stan, but first we have to find out who's to blame"

Yeah this is getting really old. Somebody went on a shooting rampage... well, we better ban firearms. What if he went down the hallways tossing molotov cocktails into classrooms? Should we ban all flammable liquids?

That could never happen. ;)

Seriously, I agree with the earlier posts. When you live in an open, free society you have the freedom to do good and to do evil. While we make laws and put processes in place to prevent someone from harm to others, at certain point those same things (when taken to extremes) can interfere with our liberties.
