.... for the last 2-3 weeks FWPD has been on
a red light running warpath..

(drive this stretch at least once a day)

Personally have witnessed roughly 10-12
pullovers a day(some are more than one @ a time)
on Coliseum Blvd between Parnell and Lima Rds.

For those who are unaware!

They've been doing this ALL summer. When they first started, I believe they said something like 70+ tickets were written in one afternoon. So many that the cop had to get a new pad.

That being said, I support this 100%.

Easiest way to avoid the ticket?

DON'T RUN THE RED LIGHTS!

Agreed!

Only intend this as a PSA.

Can't count how many times I've had
a green light in front of me while still having to
wait for the turn lane cars to clear...

It's about time! I wrote about wanting them doing this very thing in the written word section a while back (Red lights mean stop??). Maybe one of the cops finally read it.

Anyway...good for them.

I've NEVER seen a fort wayne cop run a red light...

/sarcasm

Jerks should follow the laws they're supposed to enforce... (and I'm talking about them running lights without their sirens on, which is just as illegal as any of us running a red light.)

I totally agree, but there are alot less of them than there are of us. I don't hear about too many cops causing accidents because they ran a red light.

I watched a cop pull into the turn lane at Coldwater and Collins heading southbound. No one was in the turn lane and his light had just turned red. The first car to start their turn was going from Collins onto northbound Coldwater. The cop T-boned her and sent her car spinning. He had no lights on, no sirens, nothing. He then proceeded to try to give the lady a ticket for not yielding the right of way to a police vehicle. The driver of the car the ladies car hit after she was spun around was a lawyer. He "advised" the officer that that would not be a prudent thing to do.

I know this is only one example, but I watched it happen (I was selling cars at the old Tomkinson's at the time. God what a sh#tty job that was.)The worst thing about it was what a d*ck the cop was to the woman after CAUSING the accident.

There ya go ^

Hell, I've been nearly hit by several cops near the Piere's area that randomly U-turn on st. joe ctr road (without lights, sirens or so much as a turn signal) so they can continue to patrol traffic coming out of the Canterberry area.

The above example is even more poignant though.
