I saw something on these, and I was thinking the bunker/island might be one...
A Bernal sphere is a type of space habitat intended as a long-term home for permanent residents, first proposed in 1929 by Dr. John Desmond Bernal.

Dr. Bernal's original proposal described a hollow spherical shell 16 km in diameter, with a target population of 20,000 to 30,000 people. The Bernal sphere would be filled with air.

In a series of studies held at Stanford University in 1975 and 1976 with the purpose of speculating on designs for future space colonies, Dr. Gerard Kitchen O'Neill proposed a modified Bernal sphere with a diameter of only 500 m rotating at 1.9 RPM to produce a full Earth gravity at the sphere's equator. The result would be an interior landscape that would resemble a large valley running all the way around the equator of the sphere. Sunlight was to be provided to the interior of the sphere using external mirrors to direct it in through large windows near the poles. The form of a sphere was chosen for its optimum ability to contain air pressure and its optimum mass-efficiency at providing radiation shielding.

This version of the Bernal sphere was dubbed the "Island One" design, and was sized for a population of 10,000. For comparison, Island Two would house 140,000, and Island Three (O'Neill cylinder) would support a population of 10,000,000.

Desmond has been there probably only a few years. Im pretty sure after he asks Locke "are you him" he says someting about Locke being his replacement, like a shift change. He also ask Locke "what did one snowman say to the other snowman" or something like that, i read somewhere else that Hurley asked this same riddle in the first season, Maybe through this riddle and Hurleys attatchment to the numbers, Hurley is connected to Desmond.

Did anyone else think that the training film Jack & Locke looked like an animatic from a video game? I really liked that whole scene.

Yeah Disney/ABC have a couple of lost related websites. The Hanso one and the "oceanic-air dot com" one (not sure what the protocol on posting links is?)(bad grammar in know) The oceanic air one is interesting there is a lot of hidden content, good to kill some time.

The movie reel was sort of annoying i didn't like it skipping.

Does Jin already know how to speak English, or was the end of the last episode the first time?

Uhh.. I think everyone who saw the previews for this weeks show was like.. "WHAT!?"

Maybe that's his "gift" from the Island.

It could always be a dream / flashback / been hit in the head moment...

...but I'm guessing he's been able to speak it the whole time, and he's been hiding it.

That's too much to give away. I call BS.

I agree with the dream/flashback/hit in the head theory.

I really liked last nights episode. Even if it was the 'safe' one.

Hurley has been in the running as my favorite character from the beginning, and it was nice to get some more of his backstory. Oh, and stealing lawn gnomes with his little friend was awesome. Sometimes you've got to stick it to the man with lawn ornaments!

Plus it answered some of the Q's I'd been pondering about the bunker. They answered the power source problem, and are pushing the buttons; even if they don't know why.

Here's a map of the bunker: (I know, it's like D&D all over again!)

Looks like we've hit the mid-point of the season already, where characters are developed and supsense is drawn out for weeks at a time. Last night's episode wasn't bad, but it makes me think we have a while before anymore plot bombs are dropped.

hurley is by far my favorite.

anyone else nervous Locke has access to big guns?

and the dream sequence at the beginning was really funny.

So what do you think happened to the others from the back of the plane?

Has anyone found the drive shaft website?
