Dylan...WOW!

I gotta say....I went to this show thinking (based on the previous Dylan show I saw), "I am not gonna hear much of anything that I am familiar with." And that was gonna be OK by me. I had low expectations....I requested that Bob play "Girl From North Country". That was all I asked.

*He warmed me up with "Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum"
I said, "Thank you, Bob."

*Then he played "Girl From North Country."
I said, "Oh, Bob, you really shouldn't have." Then asked him, "Please, sir, find it in you heart to play "Stuck Inside of Mobile" or "Masters of War"

*He played both.
I said, "Bob, this is great....could you play 'I shall be released.' That would be awesome."

*Bob told me I was just being greedy at that point, but since I had sat through the rain to see him....he played "Tangled Up In Blue" instead. Then, "Highway 61" & "My Back Pages"....with an encore of "Like a Rolling Stone" & "All Along The Watchtower".
I said, "Thank you, Bob. You have really outdone yourself." He said, "They don't call me Bob "f*ing" Dylan for nothing."

In all seriousness....I had a great time tonight.

Before I went back into IPFW 24 hour cpu lab to finish my Bio lab report, I stood outside in the West parking lot and listened to "Tangled Up In Blue". Even though it was bouncing off the bleachers to get to my ears it sounded wonderful. I guess I'll be travelling to see him the next time, hopefully with Matt Kelley.

GREAT SHOW!!!

I was super impressed with Jimmy Vaughn. Up until last night, I didn't know. Now I know. And knowing is half the battle.

I loved the show, in particular "Masters of War" which was full o' venom and quite brilliant.

Bob's moves, even on the piano --- hell, I love that guy.

This morning's paper says it sold only 2,200 tickets.....I know $50 is expensive for those of us with the Workingman's Blues, but... wow... pathetic.

i think it sold more than that, I did some calculations of open seats to seats sold and I came up with a larger number than that. (I have a Ticketmaster booth in front of me all day, I can do these things).

any idea's on why this venue was used??

vs. Coliseum, Embassy, Scottish Rite or even Foellinger??

what with weather & low attendance.

Um, Dylan has been touring Minor League Ballparks for the past three years or so. Its kind of what he does in the summer.

possible scenario?

As this is the third year for the MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL STADIUM TOUR that Dylan has embarked on, the Embassy maybe didn't have the right ambience?

edit: yeah, what he said.

Seriously, there's no need to be a d*ck when answering questions. Some people aren't "in the know".
