Alright.. so the weekend is upon us and you need something to do!
Friday night check out the Mostly Trainhoppers & The Possum Trot Orchestra downtown starting at seven.
Pearls & Brass and locals are at the Brass Rail.
Don't forget Happy Hour at C-Street with the Chris Dodds Experience featuring Mike Conley from 5-7.
Or stay in on Friday and reserve your energy for Saturday, the day God gave us to rock... or was it Satan that invented the Day of Rock? All I know is Dio invented the horns... and that my friend is cool.
Saturday features two power house shows....
First of all COVER ME BADD: Locals Doing Locals at Mid City Bar & Grill starting at 10 featuring Matthew Sturm doing Sankofa doing D. Gary doing Left Lane Cruiser.
A swingers party you ask? Only if some of the band grow boobs and become girls... anyway, this show will feature each performer covering TWO songs from the other performers catalog of ORIGINAL music. What? Are you confused? Take a nap Grandma and let me explain this again... D. Gary will tackle two Sankofa songs, two Matthew Sturm songs and two Left Lane Cruiser songs. Sankofa will do two Matthew Sturm songs, two D. Gary songs and two Left Lane Cruiser songs. Left Lane Cruiser will do two... oh for crying out loud... just come to the show.
And for all you underage cats & kitties... KILL YOUR RADIO! No, not literally.. could you go to jail for that? I'm not sure.. anyway.. at Sunset Hall starting at 6:30PM is a huge Hip Hop/Hardcore show featuring Sankofa, Sej Sirraf, Saints Never Surrender, Chuck & Bruce and a slew of other performers. So check it out...
