I have always loved music star. I have made almost all of my drum and various other instrument accessory purchases from them. Almost always a pleasant time.

Decent prices and good selection of drum items. I think I have purchased over $300 worth of $4 buckets sticks from them before shows.

I did however not go as often after being employed by Guitar Center. This was solely due to convenience and employee pricing though.

Always got my stuff from here. Alot of stuff I didnt need too. That is until Bill and Brian left. I havent been in there since to see how it is now, but I wont either. That place can shut down for all I care. When Bill or Brian werent there it was a joke. The only thing that helped them were the Teachers coming out to help answer questions and make sales.

Love the place. Knowledgeable, friendly, not pushy. I've bought two amps from them, ALL of my bass strings (elixirs) and had a 1/4" jack worked on in my bass with a 1 day turnarond. Highly recommended

I love going in and hanging out. Mark is a kick ass guitarist, and very knowledgable. The teachers there are also very pleasant and extremely talented!
Pearl Jam is my life! Just finished the West Coast tour..

I was in there last week with a friend b/c he wanted to get a tube amp and we were going all over town checking things out. Music Star was our first stop and they did a great job pissing me off right away. I was explaining the amp I was recomending to my friend and the sales man kept interrupting me to say the exact things I was saying. Wouldn't my friend be more likely to buy something off my recomendation? Then he kept trying to get our friend to try out the sh*tty peavey valveking 1x12 combo(wtf??) until he finally listened the third time we said we want something on the higher end. Also, that it was our first stop and we wanted to go to every store in town. About 5 minutes later another customer comes in and it was somebody that knew the salesman. The jerkoff salesman had the nerve go say loudly while looking straight at us "I'm tired of these kids coming in and trying everything then buying elsewhere." Hey buddy...my friend wanted the peavey classic 50 4x10 but I talked him into buying a traynor. Smooth one!!

One more thing old guy...24 and 26yrs old are not "kids" I miss Bill and Brian!!

I too, miss Brian and Bill. They were very relaxed and werent very pushy for you to buy anything from them. I took my Fender Strat in there to get a new pickup put in there. The turn around was fairly fast and the work was very good. I think it was Brian that put it in for me. That was about two years ago, and i havent had a single problem with that pickup.

I think that the two new guys they hired are really cocky. One guy just talks about banging chicks while the other one just brags about how he is the youngest luthier in town. You can't teach experience. I would drive that extra 10-15 miles all the way to B-Sharp before i go to Music Star and let them touch my guitar.

Went there with $1200 in my pocket to buy a new kit. Stood next to the drum set i liked for nearly twenty minutes, noone came to help. Finally asked for some help, was demeaned and insulted by employee. Took my money elsewhere, never went back.

Was in a couple of weeks ago because I heard they were carrying Ashdown and I like Ashdown's high end ABM line a lot... They aren't carrying Ashdown anymore - they aren't carrying Mesa anymore either. But thank God they have Hartke  Peavey ](*,) and the "Working Pro" SWR crap :?

UGH! No Eden dealers in town, no high end (epifani, bergantino, ebs, etc...) bass amp dealers in town. 3 people carrying Ampeg, at least 2 carrying the crappy new SWR stuff (I LOVE old SWR amps!). Oh well, the internet it is then.

Oh yeah, back to my point... the kid working in there was not the least bit interested in my business. He even tried to talk me into trying out the new POD bass combos (ummmm NO!)...
