I'd seen that, and it is horrible, but the poster's explanation for what happened doesn't make sense... I don't think the tempo is sufficiently "speeded up" from the original to attribute the problem to a mismatch. If that track were slowed down from 48 to 44.1, it would be crawling.... way too slow for a show opener.

I've heard the effect a bunch of times, and I don't think that's it. But that certainly did suck.

On the upside, I've heard reports from friends who have seen the show that Dave and Eddie are really rockiin' the joint. I' don't think you can condemn the tour based on this vid.

I wouldn't see Van Halen live because it is Van Halen...

Saw the tour at Conseco, was expecting the worst, but it was by far the best arena rock show I've seen. Ed and Dave did tear it up.

I'm guessing what happened in that clip has been fixed and won't happen again, and they handled it pretty well for being completely screwed. I believe that happened at the first show of the tour, or close to it.

So why not? Why wont you see Van Halen?

*BECAUSE* they are Van Halen?

What does that mean?

If it's not your cup 'o tea then so be it.
Don't be hatin', haters.

If its because they are dinosaurs, then just wait a decade or so and your favorites will be dino's too.

Is it because you saw one crappy youtube where CLEARLY there was a technical snafu and not sloppy playing?
Think that never happens on most humongo tours?

I grew up on Van Halen and admittedly they rock.
Yes... I think they RAWK.

They are touring to pimp the shite outta the hits and give everyone what they wanted. I would much rather see a *hits tour* than them schlepping some feeble new crap.

So they took the steps needed to do this. Eddie cleaned up and looks like a million bucks. Dave is in fine shape too. They technically are still kicking it hard and people are eating it up.

You need a reason *not* to go?

Ticket prices.
I saw them in 1979 for $7 (SEVEN!) dollars.
Tickets now are what? $150?
EFF THAT
Tell me it costs (doing crappy math) a billion times more to run a show these days?
too much greed is killing the industry.

Micheal Anthony.
Don't go to a concert to protest the azz-pounding they gave him on royalties and writing credit.

MA added professional showmanship, decent playing and a vocal layer that young Wolfie don't have.

I would go to Van Halen, but I liked MA... and my cash.

I am sorry, did I say I wouldn't see Van Halen because they are Van Halen?

I meant to say I wouldn't see Van Halen because I am straight...

Actually tix ranged from $50 to $150, which isn't bad for a dinosaur band of their stature.

But hey, don't take my word for it, it's not like I actually went and saw the show...

Man something was way outa tune there.... But the pros just pushed through it. What ya gonna do stop the song? I would have, but I'm not a pro. Besides I've hear many local bands A LOT more out of tune than that and they thought they was the crapola.
