Remove Queen and AC/DC and I would ditto that list. But Journey and Van Halen would be my top 2.

the beatles
How can you call yourself human?

Kidding.

There are a lot of Beatles tunes that suck royal ass. But then there are a bunch that are great.

I agree whole-heartedly. More so with the last part of your statement.

Ever noticed that the more you dislike a certain genre of music, the more it all sounds alike?

Country radio sounds like white noise to me.

i say:

i realize yer kidding

but im used to this reaction

growing up i never heard them

my parents played a lot of james taylor and carole king around the house

by the time i learned about the beatles

it seemed to me that they had pretty much done every style of music

pop - rock - soul - country - r+b - hip-hop - psychedelic - bluegrass - electronic - folk - gospel - etc

so i figured i could listen to them or everything else

i chose everything else

i eventually heard abbey rd about five yrs ago

its pretty good

Any new and cutting-edge current band that make people (music snobs) give me the "are you living in a cave?" look for admitting I have never heard of them.

Punks.

Get off my lawn.

It's even worse than that. It goes beyond description.

The thing is, it's not even country music anymore..hasn't been for a long time. It's just pop rock with twang. "Real" country music, like Hank Williams Sr., etc. doesn't exist anymore on the radio. But that stuff is great in my opinion.

I challenge you, if you haven't already, to listen to Gram Parson's self-titled album along with Grievious Angel and tell me you don't like it. Now THAT'S real country music.

OK, Jones. We're back on. Even if you think I'm ghay.

But seriously. The song "She" is one of the best country/soul songs I have ever heard. One of the greatest tunes ever written in my opinion. To think that young man had that much talent in just 27 years is simply amazing to me. The timbre of his voice. The depth to his writing. Unbelievable.
